Trade Mission to South Africa & Namibia , February 25-March 4, 2014
This Mission will focus on the green and renewable energies sectors, but will be open to companies from a variety of industries. South Africa and Namibia are key English-speaking markets and important regional centers of trade in southern Africa, one of the best intermediate sized markets for US companies to investigate.

Paris Air Show 2013 Paris, France, June 17-20, 2013
Nine NY State companies participated at the NY State Booth of the 50th anniversary of this world’s largest aerospace/ defense industry biennial event. Pre-show matchmaking by ESD’s European office enabled companies to make the most productive use of their time at the event. ESD partnered with the North Country Chamber of Commerce who helped with much of planning and event logistics.

Arab Health 2013 Dubai, UAE, January 28-31, 2013
Eight NY State companies attended to exhibit at the NY State Booth at this largest healthcare exhibition and medical congress in the Middle East. In addition to visitors from the Arab states, the NY companies met with potential buyers, agents or distributors from many other Asian and European countries. The NY State booth was part of the US Pavilion where support was provided by local US Commercial Service staff.

NY State Winery Delegation Shanghai & Nantong, October 23-28, 2012
Official opening of the NY State Wine Outlet at the Shanghai International Wine Exhibition Center. Eleven NY State Wineries attended and an additional 19 were represented via product displays, etc. at various venues during the mission. Events in Shanghai and Nantong featured the NY State wines and company presentations.

Mining and Engineering Industry Mission China & Korea October 19-27 2012
Five member firms of the American Council of Engineering Companies in New York (ACENY) participated in this mission to Shanghai, Beijing and Seoul. The goals of the mission were to educate participants about the differences in mining and engineering in the respective markets as well as to allow participants to introduce their service for potential market opportunities there. Among the highlights of the mission were meetings with the Korean Consulting Engineering Association and with the China National Association of Engineering to open doors to Korean and Chinese companies that have had little experience in working with American firms.

A2IM (American Association of Independent Music) Mission to Seoul, Korea, Shanghai & Hong Kong , September 5-13, 2012
Thirteen NY State companies, all members of A2IM-a membership organization of independent music label companies-participated. In the three cities visited, participants were afforded the opportunity of focusing on meetings with distributors and local music labels; mobile & other music services that can monetize their music; potential licensees for using their music in film, TV, advertising, games, karaoke, etc.; and touring and merchandising companies to create greater exposure in the local markets. The group also visited the new Hong Kong music center. A reception was held in Hong Kong which also included buyers from Singapore, Malaysia and other Asian countries.

CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Mission to Shanhai & Beijing, July 8-15, 2012
Eight companies participated in this trade mission in which ESD partnered with this premier association of fashion designers and production companies. JAM Fashion Group of Shanghai and New York, organized a series of events for the group in China, including an “Education & Background Day” on selling US fashion into China, legal and other issues. Meetings with distributors were held in Shanghai and in Beijing and participants were also taken to see retail fashion outlets in these cities.

China Bio-Med Trade Mission to Shanghai, Sujou and Nanjing, China, May 21-25 2012
Four companies participated on this multi-city mission. Each company had pre-arranged meetings with potential agents/distributors and government officials. The US DOC Commercial Service met individually with each company and accompanied them to the China BioPartnering Forum in Suzhou, which they organized. Orientation sessions were provided to the group on doing business in China.
