Public Space

The Buffalo waterfront hosts large events and daily activities of all types and strives to provide public access to the land and waterways on the Buffalo River and Lake Erie shoreline. ECHDC has contracted with the Buffalo Waterfront Management Group, part of Rich Entertainment Group and a subsidiary of Rich Products, to manage its property.

Plan your visit to the Buffalo waterfront

Plan your visit to the Buffalo Waterfront to celebrate the Bicentennial of the Erie Canal, catch a concert at Terminal B, stroll the Boardwalk at Canalside, or visit area attractions!  From exhibits, ice skating, fitness classes and more, there’s never a dull moment. Visit buffalowaterfront.com for upcoming events, itineraries, and the waterfront map.

New for 2025, ECHDC is offering a free shuttle service at Canalside throughout the summer and into the fall. The shuttle operates on a fixed route covering key locations between parking lots surrounding Canalside and attractions within the Canalside property. The shuttle runs on a constant route loop, estimating the pickup at each location to be every 15 minutes. Clearly marked pickup and drop-off points are established with Buffalo Waterfront signage.
