Caribbean-American entrepreneur Farah McKenley launched UMAC Painting and Decorating LLC in April 2023 with a vision for growth. The business, with offices in the Bronx and on Long Island, currently offers residential and commercial painting, color consultation and wallpaper installation and removal, among other services. Initially operating as a solo entrepreneur, McKenley found the strategic guidance she needed through the Business Outreach Center Network's EAC program.
The Bronx BOC program's Business Model Canvas methodology and expert mentorship helped McKenley optimize her business strategy and marketing approach. The results speak for themselves: she has secured three contracts valued between $17,000 and $32,000 and is now pursuing opportunities in the $100,000-$400,000 range.
With her sights set on reaching $500,000 in revenue in the coming year, McKenley is positioning UMAC Painting for expansion, including plans to hire full-time staff.
