Empire State Development (ESD) joined SharkNinja, a global leader in consumer product design and technology, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the official opening of the company's first New York City office—a Creative Design Hub in Manhattan's historic Flatiron District. The state-of-the-art facility at 41 Madison Avenue spans over 14,000 square feet and will create over 45 new jobs in industrial design, marketing, and creative functions. The celebration brought together state and local officials, business leaders, and SharkNinja executives to mark the company's investment in New York City, supported by up to $920,000 in performance-based Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits from Empire State Development.

Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Hope Knight said, “Empire State Development is thrilled to welcome SharkNinja to New York City. The company’s new Creative Design Hub builds on New York’s deep tradition of innovation and creativity, while adding momentum to one of the most dynamic design and technology markets in the world. SharkNinja’s decision to grow here underscores how New York’s talent, energy, and opportunity continue to attract global leaders across industries.”

SharkNinja CEO Mark Barrocassaid, “Today marks an exciting milestone in SharkNinja’s journey - a moment that reflects both our extraordinary growth and our limitless ambition. Our New York office represents the momentum of a company that’s always looking ahead. It’s where creativity, collaboration, and innovation come together to power what’s next. Every step of our journey has been driven by a deep focus on the consumer and a commitment to positively impacting their lives. This milestone brings that spirit to life as we write the next chapter of SharkNinja’s growth story, here in New York, and around the world.”

New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) President & CEO Andrew Kimb said, “Today’s ribbon cutting marks the official start to SharkNinja’s New York City chapter, a move that will bring jobs, creativity, and innovation to the city. Through guiding the site selection process and facilitating ecosystem connections, we were thrilled to play a role in SharkNinja’s decision to choose NYC, and we look forward to working with SharkNinja as it develops roots in Manhattan’s iconic Flatiron District.”

The new Creative Design Hub features specialized design equipment, collaborative workspaces, and a state-of-the-art product testing laboratory where teams will focus on research, design development, and creative marketing initiatives for the company's Shark and Ninja brands. The company has already hired dozens of new employees in New York City, including industrial designers and creative and marketing professionals.

Located at the New York Merchandise Mart in the Flatiron District—a neighborhood with deep roots in home furnishings and design—the hub connects the area's heritage in home goods with the future of consumer product innovation, positioning SharkNinja at the center of one of the world's most dynamic talent markets.

Founded in 1994, SharkNinja is the innovation powerhouse behind two multi-billion-dollar brands—Shark and Ninja—with a diversified portfolio of cutting-edge products including Shark vacuum cleaners and beauty tools, as well as Ninja kitchen appliances.
