ESD Announces 2018 Global NY Export Experts Tour

Foreign Office Representatives to Visit Eight New York State Regions and Hundreds of Businesses

Empire State Development (ESD) today announced that representatives from Global NY’s foreign offices will embark on a trade promotion tour to eight regions of New York State. Global NY is ESD’s international division, which offers resources and assistance to both foreign businesses looking to invest and to local businesses that want to export globally. The tour—featuring representatives from Canada, Mexico, Europe (U.K.), South Africa, Israel and China—will take place from Oct. 18 to Oct. 25.

Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Howard Zemsky said, “New York companies that engage with Global NY’s experts and representatives will learn how to foster new export opportunities and grow their businesses into international markets, leading to new jobs and a strong economy back home.”

At each tour stop, the foreign office representatives will deliver presentations and share insights on both targeted foreign markets and on New York State firms exporting into new markets. A Q&A session will follow each of the presentations and companies in attendance will also have the chance to schedule one-on-one consultations with the representatives.

The Export Experts tour supports New York State's mission to promote the competitiveness, economic impact and activity that come from attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and introducing New York State businesses to exporting.

People who are interested in attending one of the sessions can RSVP at https://esd.ny.gov/global-ny-tour.
