Publicly Accessible Platform Will Serve as a One-Stop Shop for Companies, Entrepreneurs, Investors, Students, and Policymakers
Partnership with NewYorkBIO and NYC EDC to Centralize and Expand Access to Life Sciences Information
Empire State Development today announced the launch of New York Bio Connect, a first-of-its-kind digital platform that centralizes critical information about New York's life sciences ecosystem. Developed by NewYorkBIO through a collaborative partnership with ESD and NYC Economic Development Corporation, the publicly accessible hub aggregates real-time data on funding opportunities, facilities, career openings, industry events, and support services to accelerate innovation and growth across the state's bioscience sector. The platform is now live at newyorkbioconnect.com.
Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Hope Knight said, “With New York Bio Connect, we are creating a powerful economic development asset for the entire state. This platform will not only spotlight the tremendous work happening across our life sciences ecosystem, but also expand access to capital, facilities, talent, and partnerships—helping New York attract investment, grow companies, and create good jobs in every region.”
NYCEDC President & CEO Andrew Kimball said, “New York Bio Connect represents a transformational step forward that will continue to cement New York City as a national leader in the health and life science innovation sector. By centralizing essential resources, opportunities, and information, this platform breaks down barriers and empowers entrepreneurs, researchers, and companies of all sizes to reach their highest potential—driving discoveries, supporting job growth, and ultimately improving health outcomes for communities across New York and beyond.”
NewYorkBIO CEO Jennifer Hawks Bland said, “The launch of New York Bio Connect marks an important milestone for our state’s life sciences community. This platform reflects the collective strength of New York’s ecosystem—bringing together companies of every size, academic institutions, investors, and support organizations. By making it easier to access resources and opportunities, New York Bio Connect will empower innovators to advance research, accelerate development, and bring groundbreaking treatments and technologies to patients.”
Unveiled at NewYorkBIO's annual Innovation Summit, the hub addresses a longstanding need for centralized access to New York's diverse life sciences resources—identified through years of collaboration between Empire State Development and NYC Economic Development Corporation. The platform serves life sciences companies seeking facilities and partnerships, investors analyzing market opportunities, entrepreneurs and startups building networks, job seekers exploring career paths, and policymakers tracking industry trends.
New York State has made life sciences a cornerstone of its innovation economy through strategic investments in research institutions, workforce development, venture funding, and state-of-the-art facilities across every region. New York Bio Connect builds on these efforts by providing the digital infrastructure needed to connect talent, capital, and ideas—positioning New York as a global leader in life sciences while fostering groundbreaking discoveries, supporting high-quality jobs, and driving long-term economic growth for the Empire State.
