ESD Announces Seviroli Foods Will Create 30 Jobs in New Garden City Facility

Project Will Grow Long Island’s Robust Food Production and Manufacturing Industry

Empire State Development (ESD) today announced that Seviroli Foods will expand its presence in Long Island through the acquisition of a 33,000 square-foot production facility and warehouse space in the Garden City area. This latest investment and expansion will reconfigure existing manufacturing plants and create 30 new jobs in food production, supporting Seviroli’s status as the world’s largest tortellini manufacturer.

“We want to ensure that the food production industry continues to thrive in Long Island,” said Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul. “For almost 60 years, Seviroli Foods has been consistently producing high-quality pasta products and its expansion today, as well as its commitment to the region, is a huge success for Long Island.”

To encourage Seviroli’s expansion in New York State, Empire State Development offered the company up to $350,000 in performance-based taxed credits through the Excelsior Jobs Program. Seviroli will invest $9 million to acquire and reconfigure the 33,000 square-foot production space. The expansion will create 30 new jobs in production, manufacturing and R&D and Seviroli will also retain 265 jobs in New York State.

"Seviroli has strong ties to Long Island where our family shareholders reside. The family is committed to Long Island and has continued to invest in Long Island by purchasing real-estate to expand its business here," said Seviroli Foods COO Paul Vertullo.

Seviroli Foods expansion is a great addition to the food production and manufacturing industry that is helping to spur economic growth across Long Island. With this acquisition, Seviroli Foods will stay in the region, and continue to grow quality jobs for New Yorkers,” said ESD President, CEO, and Commissioner Howard Zemsky.

Seviroli Foods is a family owned and operated food manufacturing and production company, which has sold filled pastas and sauce products nationally since 1960. This innovative frozen pasta producer has a long history on Long Island and with this acquisition, Seviroli will grow the region’s burgeoning food production and manufacturing industry.
