Global NY Wins Global Trade Award

World Trade Week NYC Award Honors Organizations for Growing Trade and Investment in the NY Region

Empire State Development (ESD) today announced that Global NY, which offers one-stop shopping to both foreign businesses looking to invest in New York and to local businesses that want to export globally, was awarded the Global Trade Award at the World Trade Week NYC International Trade Awards.

The award recognizes organizations that have significantly contributed to the growth of trade and investment in the New York region. In 2017 Global NY supported hundreds of companies in their export activities and led New York State business delegations to Israel, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Africa and China.

“The Global Trade Award recognizes the important work Global NY does every day, creating jobs and opportunity by encouraging foreign direct investment (FDI) and helping NYS businesses expand their footprint abroad—through funding and export assistance and through trade missions that create partnerships and connections,” said ESD President, CEO and Commissioner Howard Zemsky.

World Trade Week NYC  hosts the International Trade Awards to promote the importance of international trade in the New York City metropolitan area. This year’s award ceremony was held May 7 at Baruch College.
