Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that Great Performances - the largest woman-owned catering and food service company in New York City - will relocate from Manhattan to the South Bronx. As part of the relocation, Great Performances will create 181 new jobs and retain 451 jobs. The company will also invest $4.4 million in outfitting an over 40,000 square foot space to accommodate new kitchens, warehouse space, purchasing department, design studio, training space, support offices and The Sylvia Center, a non-profit dedicated to teaching nutrition and cooking to children and their families in high potential neighborhoods.

"New York couldn't be prouder of our efforts to ensure women-owned businesses - especially creative, sustainable and forward-thinking ones like Great Performances - have the opportunity to grow and thrive in this state," Governor Cuomo said. "With its new headquarters, Great Performances will be able to expand operations, hire more staff and share its success with new neighbors in the South Bronx and beyond. That's a recipe for success."

"In New York, we are committed to ensuring the growth of successful woman-owned businesses like Great Performances," said Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul. "The catering company's relocation will create more than 180 new jobs and retain hundreds more in their new location in the South Bronx. This investment continues to strengthen the economy, attracting more businesses and creating new opportunities in the area."
