Supporting ON Semiconductor's Continued Success Complements "Finger Lakes Forward" - The Region's Comprehensive Strategy to Revitalize Communities and Grow the Economy

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that ON Semiconductor, a leading supplier of semiconductor-based solutions, has officially opened its expanded test and assembly facility at Eastman Business Park in Rochester. As part of the expansion, the company plans to create up to 34 new jobs at the facility over the next two years, in addition to 185 jobs that will be retained. The site develops and manufactures image sensor devices for commercial, industrial and professional imaging applications, including machine vision, surveillance, traffic monitoring, medical and scientific imaging, and photography. ON Semiconductor is also home to the innovative American Institute for Manufacturing Integrated Photonics Headquarters and its Test, Assembly and Packaging facility, which is slated to open later this year.

"Our efforts to breathe new life into Rochester's Eastman Business Park are working, and the completion of the test and assembly operations project is a major step forward for the entire region," Governor Cuomo said. "New York's investments in economic and community development are enticing businesses to startup, expand and grow throughout Upstate, and with the opening of the expanded ON Semiconductor facility, we look forward to creation of new jobs for men and women throughout the Finger Lakes."
