January 12, 2018

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the winners of the state's first I LOVE NEW YORK @Tribeca Student Film Competition, representing New York's 11 Tourism Regions. Each finalist received a stipend to create the short one-to-three-minute film focusing on a specific vacation region across the state.

"Tourism is the lifeblood of New York and the films created by these talented student filmmakers will help us promote some of our favorite statewide destinations," Governor Cuomo said. "This contest continues New York's support for film and television production statewide, and I congratulate the winners and all participants."

First introduced at the New York State Tourism and Craft Beverage Summit, the I LOVE NEW YORK @Tribeca Student Film Competition invited film students from across the state to submit ideas for a short film featuring one of New York's eleven vacation regions. More than 50 applications were received, each with a creative treatment describing the filmmaker's vision.
