ESD Announces Newell Brands to Bring 200 Jobs to Brooklyn

New 47,000 Square Foot DUMBO Office to Serve as Global eCommerce Hub

Empire State Development (ESD) today announced that Newell Brands, a leading consumer goods manufacturer, will establish a new 47,000 square-foot office at Empire Stores, 55 Water Street in DUMBO.

“New York is a leader in the 21st century tech economy and we have the workforce, the jobs, and the infrastructure to support the growth we’re seeing in this booming sector,” said ESD President, CEO, and Commissioner Howard Zemsky. “Newell Brands’ new office in DUMBO will contribute to Brooklyn’s thriving tech ecosystem and create hundreds of new, high-paying jobs for New Yorkers.”

Newell Brands will create 200 new jobs at the new location at 55 Water Street. To encourage the company’s expansion in New York, ESD offered Newell Brands up to $4 million in performance-based tax credits through the Excelsior Jobs Program.
