Empire State Development (ESD) and the State University of New York (SUNY) today announced the New York Center for Research, Economic Advancement, Technology, Engineering and Science, or NY CREATES, held its first board meeting and is formally leading operations of Fuller Road (FRMC) and Fort Schuyler (FSMC) Management Corporations, two non-profits affiliated with the SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly). Since May 2018, ESD and SUNY have worked together to restructure the portfolio of economic development projects affiliated with SUNY Poly by launching NY CREATES as a single non-profit to manage the portfolio. This strengthens the oversight, management, governance and delivery of projects by focusing the NY CREATES management team on core non-academic, economic development-related programs led by Fort Schuyler Management Corporation, Fuller Road Management Corporation and SUNY. Consistent with its not-for-profit purposes, the mission of NY CREATES is to advance high-tech research, development and commercialization opportunities through the acquisition, construction and management of state-of-the-art facilities and programs, while promoting economic development, education and workforce training throughout New York. SUNY Chancellor Kristina M. Full-Service Environmental Firm Will Move to Larger Facility in the Town of Macedon and Create up to 32 Jobs Investment Complements “Finger Lakes Forward” – The Region’s Comprehensive Strategy to Revitalize Communities and Grow the Economy Empire State Development (ESD) today announced that environmental management and remediation company Sessler Environmental Services will move to a larger facility in the Town of Macedon in Wayne County and will create up to 32 new jobs over the next five years. Citing its rapid growth, the company will move into a 21,000 square-foot building located at 1330 Research Forest in Macedon. The project will include the renovation of the building and the purchase of needed machinery and equipment. Sessler Environmental Services (SES) expects to be operating at the new facility sometime in the spring of 2020. Accelerating Finger Lakes Forward  Today’s announcement complements “Finger Lakes Forward,” the region’s comprehensive blueprint to generate robust economic growth and community development. The State has already invested more than $6.1 billion in the region since 2012 to lay the groundwork for the plan – investing in key industries including photonics, agriculture‎ and food production, and advanced manufacturing. Today, unemployment is down to the lowest levels since before the Great Recession; personal and corporate income taxes are down; and businesses are choosing places like Rochester, Batavia and Canandaigua as a destination to grow and invest in. Now, the region is accelerating Finger Lakes Forward with a $500 million State investment through the Upstate Revitalization Initiative, announced by Governor Cuomo in December 2015.
