This exciting project will bring the National Urban League (NUL) back to Harlem, where it was founded 109 years ago, fulfilling the goals of a 2012 Request for Proposals that sought to revitalize 125th Street and strengthen Central Harlem’s critical mass of arts, cultural and entertainment institutions. The project will feature the Urban Civil Rights Experience Museum, an institution dedicated to telling the story of civil rights advocacy in the North, as well as providing a much-needed conference center for NUL and other community organizations.

In addition, the building will be home to local non-profits and will include approximately 170 units of affordable and supportive housing on 126th Street. The housing will target residents making between 30% and 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). There will also be Class A office space and streetfront retail along 125th Street.

This unique mix of uses promises to create a vibrant destination, further cementing the 125th Street corridor as a hub of culture and economic activity in New York City.
