Events at Farley

For a limited time a portion of the vast industrial spaces within the historic James A. Farley Post Office Building are available to rent for events, location filming, art exhibitions and theater productions.

The Old Sorting Room is an approximately 40,000 square feet event space with 40-foot high ceilings. This space was once the main mail sorting hall for the US Postal Service's operations in New York City. In the future it will become the new intercity train hall for New York City.

The Postal Dock is an approximately 25,000 square feet sky-lit event space with 30-foot high ceilings.

Each space is reached through the grand, landmarked Beaux-Arts facade on West 33rd Street.
Both spaces are offered "as is" and have an industrial look and feel. But they are also canvasses
that can accommodate the most imaginative concepts.

MSDC and Empire State Development selected the Skylight Group in July 2013 through a
competitive RFP process to manage these two event spaces. Skylight is the exclusive broker for
the spaces and should be contacted directly for all event inquiries at:

Within the rest of the 1.4 million square feet facility there are a variety of spaces and "looks"
that work well for location filming. View photos. COMING SOON.
